Gran Canaria Highlights Tour:
  1. Stop 1

    The tour takes you to Gran Canaria attractions and begins when the tour goes past the tourist resort of South Gran Canaria heading North-East towards Las Palmas de Gran Canaria which is the co-capital of Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.     Your tour continues to the town of Arucas where you can see vast banana plantations, it is also famous for traditional Rum Production in the Canaries. Visit Arucas’ and Gran Canaria attractions which you must not miss: the impressive San Juan Bautista, a neo gothic church and the Arehucas rum factory founded in 1884, it has Europe’s biggest rum cellars. Learn how Rum was invented in the Canaries and conquerors exported the rum to Americas. You will see thousands of American oak barrels where the rum is matured in the distillery, also see the various steps it goes through before it is bottled by the locals.

    Then the tour takes you to Teror which is the religious capital and destination of the pilgrimages of Gran Canaria. Visit the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine and admire the history and postcolonial architecture of Teror as you stroll through its romantic streets. You will be impressed by the beautiful white houses and their attractively carved Canarian pine balconies.

    Lunch is not included in the tour, but you have time to have lunch at the many restaurants in Teror.

    After lunch the tour then heads to the center of the island where you can appreciate the contrasting landscapes of deep ravines, locals still live inside these mountains, in cave-houses which are natural caves or in houses drilled out of the rocks. Isn’t it fascinating?

    As the tour takes you into the mountainous area, you will be surprised to notice that there is more greenery, an extraordinary diverse landscape, with pine and chestnut woods by the roadside.   9. Stop 9

    Finally the tour arrives at the look out point of Degollada de la Yegua, giving you a panoramic view of the magnificent mountains of the island, deep valleys filled with palms, Playa del Ingles with the landscape of the Maspalomas Dunes and the glistening Atlantic Ocean in the background.
